Job Description:
Amergis Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter for a school setting in Laurinburg, NC for the 2024-2025 school year. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and other school staff.
Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation services in a school environment.
Assist in communication during classroom activities, meetings, and school events.
Ensure accurate and effective interpretation of spoken language into sign language and vice versa.
Support students' understanding and participation in educational activities.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students' learning and social integration.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
Certification from a recognized interpreter certification program is preferred.
Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter, preferably in a school setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
