Amergis HIRING - Occupational Therapist for the '24-'25 School Year in Santa Clarita, California
School-based occupational therapy practitioners play a vital role in helping children and youth succeed in academic and personal aspects. Here are their key responsibilities:
Focus Areas:
Academics: They address academic challenges by working on skills related to reading, writing, math, and other subjects.
Play and Leisure: They promote participation in play and leisure activities.
Social Participation: They help students engage socially with peers and develop social skills.
Self-Care Skills (ADLs): They assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and eating.
Transition/Work Skills: They prepare students for transitioning to work or other life stages.
Other services include individual and group therapy, classroom integrative services, and accurate documentation of student progress. Additionally, school-based occupational therapists contribute educationally relevant services, evaluate students for special education eligibility, develop individualized education program (IEP) goals, and collaborate to support student success across all school environment.
