Amergis Caregiver - ST in Scappoose, Oregon
The Adult Day Healthcare Aide will perform a variety of individualized client activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comforts of clients. The Adult Day Healthcare Aide will also provide companionship for clients and engage them in activities such as playing games, walking about the facility, music, arts and crafts, basic exercise, and watching television. Assistance or guidance with physical, occupational, or speech therapy may also be included. This position may also accompany groups of patients on field trips and social activities outside the facility/home.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains confidentiality of all clients
Works collaboratively with other staff to accomplish goals and tasks
Assists patients with personal hygiene including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toilet training, and feeding
Uses positive and constructive interventions to direct and supervise patients during work, meals, recreational and leisure activities
Socializes with patients and participates with patients in activities such as playing games and watching television
Closely monitors the location and activity of assigned patients
Assists other staff with serving meals to patients
Performs duties, as assigned, in an accurate and timely manner
Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions
Notifies the facility Program Coordinator of any abnormal findings or conditions
Adheres to standards and procedures of facility and Amergis
Arrives at the facility on time
Represents The Company with a positive image at all times
Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of all facilities
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Additional education, training, and/or certification may vary depending on the state and facility
One year experience working in a setting with developmentally disabled clients, behaviorally challenged and/or behavioral health clients preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
