Amergis Dosimetrist $3400/weekly in Tulsa, Oklahoma

$3400/week gross for 40 hours

Certs Required: BLS, MDCB

Education: Post Graduate degree required

The successful candidate will be able to develop treatment plans (IMRT, 3D, VMAT, electrons, etc.) as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Experience with Varian Aria and Eclipse preferred but not required.

-Identifies and contours normal and dose-limiting structures by utilizing images from one or more data sets. Assumes proficiency in image registration with various image data sets to include CT, MRI and PET.

-Assists in simulations using specified imaging devices including, but not limited to CT, MRI, and PET.

The Medical Dosimetrist is a member of the radiationoncology treatment and planning team. The Medical Dosimetrist works in collaboration with the radiationtherapists, medical physicists, and radiation oncologists within thedepartment. The Medical Dosimetristmeasures and generates radiation dose distributions and calculations under thedirect supervision of the radiation physicist and the radiationoncologist. The Medical Dosimetristdesigns, generates and measures radiation dose distributions and dose calculationswhile providing oversight to high-level treatment procedures in both externalbeam radiation therapy and brachytherapy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs computations to deliver a prescribed dose to adefined tumor volume

  • Supervises and/or assists in the preparation ofbeam-modifying devices and treatment aids necessary to carry out the plannedtreatment

  • Selects the treatment technique, beam angles, and beamshapes to deliver a high dose of radiation to the tumor while sparing as muchhealthy cells/organs as possible

  • Assists the radiation physicist in quality assurance andradiation protection programs when necessary

  • Assists in brachytherapy implants, including calculation ofdoses

  • Relays information between the oncologist, physicsdepartment, and the treating therapists

  • Some teaching of dosimetry to students may be necessary

  • Monitors changes/updates within the profession

  • Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies andprocedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (C.M.D) licensure, as requiredby state regulations and/or contract specifications

  • Two (2) years’ experience in medical dosimetry preferred

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

  • Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
